Since 1990 our country has added 53 million adults. This should be a glorious opportunity to see the affect that we have had in the marketplace of ideas concerning our great commission given by our Lord and Savior:
So how have we fared? According to the 2008 American Religious Identification Survey, since 1990 we have increased the number of people professing no religion by over 20 million people. During this time the Mormons, Muslims, Jehovah’s Witness, Seventh Day Adventist and the Eastern Religions, have added 3.5 million people. That means that nearly half of the new adults are non believers or are in dead religions. Why is our Christian country failing so miserably in our highest calling? Why are so many of our youth falling away when they become adults?

Great Britain has given us a legacy of great preachers such as George Whitefield, Charles Spurgeon, Charles Wesley and John Wesley to name a few. They professed the power and glory of Jesus Christ and the work of the cross, which for over 100 hundred years lit the tremendous fire of the awakening in the hearts of many all across the world. Today this great hotbed of Spiritual revival is now in the cold clutches of a dead faith. Today in Great Britain only 6.3 percent of the total population are regular churchgoers. Only 2.5% of the population attends a Bible based church. There are more British people attending mosques than attend a Bible based church. Think this can’t happen in America? Think again. It is already happening. We are less then 2 generations from Britain’s fate. |
March 8th we had an excellent
and powerful presentation
from guest speaker Jon Kaus.
“Evolution Exposed: A Creationist's Look at the Evidence ”.
Our kids are deluged with a message from secular schools that, through an evolutionary process, mankind entered this world from monkeys millions of years ago. And that the monkey originally came from a lifeless inorganic substance (or rock) billions of years prior to that. It is no wonder that our kids in the secular world tend to act like animals, after having it drilled into their heads that we weren’t created by God, but in fact are from animals. Hence it is natural to be an animal.
There will be two presentations; the first will be to Emanuel Lutheran’s Youth group and will run from 4:30 to 5:30. On Sunday night the whole congregation will be invited to Jon’s 6:30 to 8:00 presentation.
Jon is a 22-year-old man that is on fire for the Lord. He has founded an outreach ministry and is reaching out to parents and their children. He is telling a powerful story of how we can stand firm on God as the creator. Let me give you a quote from his last newsletter.
“About nine months ago I was witnessing to two men at St. John’s University. As the discussion progressed I started appealing to Scripture as evidence for morality, the need for salvation, and the existence of God. The appeal was made to inform me of what these two men believed as truth. If they argued against my points with other Bible verses I knew there was at least a foundation I could reason from and make some immediate progress. However, if they responded with the Bible is written by fallible men, which makes it anything but true, I knew I had to switch subjects and appeal to more logic and reason from the natural world and not from Scripture. As I suspected, these two immediately denied the validity of Scripture. In place of the Bible they claimed evolution was the only way to view this world because of the evidence for it, like: fossils, carbon dating, the geologic column, distant starlight, etc. Because of their evolutionary backgrounds, I had to spend almost an hour reasoning and explaining answers to their questions before they would even discuss the Bible. In all, the witnessing went for almost 2 hours and both men hardly considered Christ for their salvation.”
I pray that you will come to this presentation. Bring you children, your friends and your neighbors. We must stand strong for the Word of God. We must equip ourselves with knowledge in order to fight the war between truth and deception. We must engage in this battle. God expects nothing less from us.
Trivia 1. Who said this? “Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind.”
Probably the most brilliant scientist that America has ever known was very aware that religion and science go hand in hand. One supports the other. This scientist was none other than Albert Einstein.
Trivia 2. Who said this? “The more I study nature, the more I stand amazed at the work of the Creator.”
Most founding fathers from all areas of scientific study were firm believers in the work of the Creator as described in the Bible. This particular quote was from Louis Pasteur, the scientist and bacteriologist who invented pasteurization.
Trivia 3. True or False? In 1982, Science Digest published this quote “The remarkable fact is that all the physical evidence we have for human evolution can still be placed, with room to spare, inside a single coffin... Modern apes, for instance, seem to have sprung out of nowhere. They have no yesterday, no fossil record. And the TRUE origin of modern humans - of upright, naked, tool making big brained beings - is, if we were to be HONEST with ourselves, an equally mysterious matter.”
It is absolutely True! And it is just as true today. So as we celebrate Charles Darwin’s 200th birthday, lets keep in mind that his theory regarding the descent of man is still an unproven religion that exists in our schools to this very day.
Trivia 4. Who said this? “I find it as difficult to understand a scientist who does not acknowledge the presence of a superior rationality behind the existence of the universe as it is to comprehend a theologian who would deny the advances of science.”
Answer: Wernher von Braun - the scientific genius behind the invention of rockets.
Trivia 5. True or False? If people and dinosaurs were created on the same day, the word “dinosaur” would appear in the Bible.
Answer: False! The King James Bible was translated in 1611, however it wasn’t until 1841 that the word “dinosaur - which means terrible lizard” was invented. Is there another word for “dinosaur”? The Hebrew word translated “dragon” in the KJV bible appears in the Old Testament some 30 times. Many biblical creationists believe that in many contexts these could refer to what we now call dinosaurs. Even Strong’s Concordance lists “dinosaur” as one of the meanings of that Hebrew word.
Trivia 6. True or False? The human brain is the most complicated structure in the known universe, containing over 100 billion cells? True! Yet, evolutionists scream in ignorance at the top of their lungs that they were not designed but simply evolved through the process of totally random mutations. They deny the hand of a creator with the certainty that would stem only from a preconceived disposition of defiance towards the absolute authority of a higher power.
Listen to what Professor Sir Ernst Chain, 1945 Nobel Prize Laureate for Medicine or Physiology, had to say about this rationalization: “To postulate that the development and survival of the fittest is entirely a consequence of chance mutations seems to me a hypothesis based on no evidence and irreconcilable with the facts. These classical evolutionary theories are a gross oversimplification of an immensely complex and intricate mass of facts, and it amazes me that they are swallowed as uncritically and readily, and for such a long time, by so many scientists without a murmur of protest.”
The perfection in the systems of our universe are screaming out to the enormous intelligence displayed in the hand of our Creator. To deny this knowledge would be foolish, but many highly educated scholars seem hell bent to do so. Paul warns us of such behavior:
Romans 1:20-22 “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools.”
